With all of the food products out there, how do you know which is the most appropriate for an animal? There are several factors that need to be considered when choosing the best diet, such as life stage, age, natural adaptations, and more. This course will help you understand the difference in nutritional needs, and how to choose the appropriate diet for any animal, including supplementing produce, prey items, and vitamins/minerals.
Module 1 Introduction to Reptile Nutrition
Learn about the three main life stages, and how they are related to an animal's nutritional needs and status. Recognize the six classes of nutrients, and examples of each.
Unit 1 Introduction to Feeding Reptiles
Module 2 Herbivores
Learn about the type of diet that herbivores are adapted to, and how to provide an adequate diet in captivity. Common species and products are discussed.
Unit 1 Feeding Herbivorous Reptiles
Module 3 Carnivores
Learn about the type of diet that carnivores are adapted to, and how to provide an adequate diet in captivity. Common species and products are discussed.
Unit 1 Feeding Carnivorous Reptiles
Module 4 Omnivores
Learn about the type of diet that omnivores are adapted to, and how to provide an adequate diet in captivity. Common species and products are discussed.

Module 5 Supplementation
Learn about the differences of vitamin and calcium supplements, and how to properly use them as part of a balanced diet.
